Here she is, our trusty steed. In need of a little care and attention I admit (not least the wheel arches) but it certainly has got some class. We have fallen in love with it already.
If your the nerdy type (sorry, but its true!) then you may wish to follow this link to Wikipedia which has all kinds of information on the old Saab 99.
Ours is a reasonably rare Turbo model…. ooohhh. Only about 900 of them made and we have managed to get one!. It sports a giant 2L turbo engine producing 145 horses and an ozone friendly 25MPG.

The Saab 99 turbo has become somewhat of a collectors item after its success as a rally car in the early 80’s. Check out some of these video’s of the car in action. It was a major high performer of its day, tearing the competition to pieces and leaving them to eat its dust!
Well anyway, our has a very odd matt finish mint coloured paint on the outside (what’s left of it) and a wonderful green interior…. nice. Complete with two seatbelts, a working sunroof, a boot that wont lock and a turbo gauge on the dash, this is the car of choice for the intrepid explorer looking to traverse some of the worlds most inhospitable landscapes with ease and comfort……… hum.
Believe it or not, we have managed to get it through an MOT and it is all taxed up a road legal, you may even see it zooming past you in the fast lane of some motorway… and then 2 miles later on the hard shoulder with steam coming out of the bonnet.
Since they are so difficult to find, we have made available a Saab 99 Turbo kit…. why not build your own!
