A few thankyou’s
Well we have managed what we thought was impossible, or at least pretty tough… Our fundraising target has been reached! The current count is:
Thank you so much to everyone who has generously donated and helped make this happen. Both Tearfund and MacMillan are ecstatic and are looking forward to receiving a big fat cheque from us to help them continue their work with the disaster stricken, homeless, destitute and terminally ill. But we don’t want to stop there, they need all the money we can raise so if you haven’t already, why not donate a little to the cause, perhaps we can top £15000 by the time we return home.
For those that have managed to see the car in the flesh, you will know that nearly every square inch is now coated with stickers or scribbles from our corporate sponsors and supporters. A number of companies and individuals have been extremely generous and taken on the risk of buy into our crazy scheme. Thank you to you all our sponsors, expecially Tim Wills and Brown Cooper Marples for sponsoring the bonnet and Ian Connell at Spar for his sponsorship of the car, a hotel in Plymouth and the ferry to France!

A few other people to mention specifically are Andy Flannagan, Ollie and Fenster and John McClean for helping us out with the charity gig. ‘Nutcase’ and the other Saab 99′ers from the SaabCentral Forum for your invaluable advise and knowledge on Saab restoration(!), Dave Vann the PR expert, Abby King and Mary Smith from Tearfund and Alistair Wearring for preaching the Sanddodger gospel at all occasions - amen brother!
So thank you! We are very encouraged by everyone’s support and faith in our ability to both remain alive, and get a £160, 30 year old Saab down to The Gambia!
