Under a month to go
AAAGGGH! We have under a month until we leave the country! YIKES!
Time has been flying past with all of our busy organisational stuff. We have all had our jabs, Pete is sorting an international drivers license for Senegal (one of the many rules required to enter the country…), Gareth has been ironing his underpants in preparation, the only thing left is some health insurance.
Pete stayed over again last night again so we could get maximum evening time working on the car. Things went well, the car seems to be running quite a lot better than it has, well, EVER really. Adjusted the timing slightly, replaced the missing thermostat and now she runs like a dream…. well not quite.
I did take it out for a bit of a spin in the afternoon and was pleasantly surprised, nothing fell off, no bangs, no pops and the turbo is still doing its job. Always its always good to burn someone off the lights in a car that looks like it should have been scrapped 10 years ago, I am not sure who was more surprised, me or them.
As Pete said, our ‘Great Sanddodgers Church Tour of 2006′ started last week with Everynation, Hammersmith and St Marks, Battersea. This week we will be taking the car on its first ever road trip…. Yes yes yes, see the sights, smell the smells, dust off your Granny cos Pete and myself are coming to MANCHESTER!
A mere 384.6 mile round trip, could be a real adventure. Needless to say, our RAC membership is at the ready.
