The Offending Item
HUZZAH! The car starts again! After a the highs and lows of last saturday, this week has paled into insignificance in comparison. Team Sanddodgers have been a busy bunch organising routes, press releases, counting coins and spamming each other about the planned Christmas leaving do! It has been fraught at times!
Thanks to some brilliant advice and help from the guys at SaabCentral forum, I have finally managed to get the car going again. it seems the offending item was in fact the fuel pump. I had my suspicions all along but something’s these things are hard to track down. Thinking it would be a nightmare to remove a crudded up fuel pump from a rusty old tank, I was both pleased and scared to find it pull out of the tank with no effort at all as it seemed not to be secured in place in the slightest! hum. After a quick tap with a hammer and bit of a shake, the pump was running again, and soon the car was too! HURRAH!
We thought it might be good to keep a breakdown log - since we suspect it could well be a frequent occurrence:
| Sanddodgers Breakdown Log | ||
| HT lead disconnected | Reconnected HT lead | |
| Engine Overheating - Leaking at Thermo housing | Housing sealed with Gasket sealer | |
| Stalled fuel pump | Hit it with hammer | |
- 1hr Flying Lesson with Captain Doug in a 4 seater light aircraft - Currently going for £100!
- A 2 & 1/2 hour health and beauty treatment at Saks - Going for £100!
- A round of golf with hints and tips from a Semi-Pro - Going for £5.50!
The ladies (presumably) seem to have got the gist with the health treatment… well done! The blokes however! PULL YOUR FINGER OUT AND GET BIDDING! At this rate, neither the golf lesson or the flight will sell!
Come on, it is for charity after all!
