Where there’s smoke, there’s fire!
Gareth and myself thought we would spend Saturday afternoon trying to get the car started…. with a limited amount of success.
Thanks to a little help from my mate Captain Doug, we got a load of bits and bobs for the car; new HT leads, plugs, Distributor cap & rotor and enough plastic padding to keep Titanic afloat! We nearly got the old girl running again. Once we’d removed the old fuel which was now brown in colour (into a Dr Pepper can – closely following all health and safety regulations) and checked it was getting to the plugs, we did get a couple of pops out of the old girl.
At one stage, Gareth and myself could be seen dancing around the back of the car in a plume of grey smoke, but sadly, it didn’t last long. Me thinks it just needs a bit more fuel and a bit more love. She’ll be running soon.
As Gareth quite rightly pointed out, “four years of jilting and heart ache … she’s just playing hard to get!”
